Call for projects
The call for innovative and entrepreneurial projects in the field of “Theranostics and Biology: Know-How Challenges, Applications and Breakthroughs"is jointly launched by Mérieux Alliance and the French Consulate in Boston and will reward best project(s) with a Mérieux Research Grant of 300 000 euros for two years.
The call is opened to any project in the field of “Biology applied to Theranostic purposes", in an early (basic science, academic science) or more mature (start ups or small companies) stage, and with high commercialization and industrial property potential.
Either biological (proteomics, genomics, glycomics, interactomics, tissue pathology, tissue imaging etc…), clinical and in silico approaches or, new diagnosis materials, technologies or tools, theranostic and companion biomarker candidates will be considered for selection. New therapeutic approaches for better personalized medicine will be also eligible for consideration. Pure radiology-driven projects are excluded.
Applications are to be sent to Antoine Mynard, scientific attaché of the French Consulate in Boston, attache-inno.mst@consulfrance-boston.org by August 31st on a word document (3 pages maximum) and are to include:

1) Information on the Principal Investigator: name, first name, title, current organization name (if applicable), current department /faculty/institute /laboratory name, exact mail/phone and cellular phone/ fax and e-mail contact details, CV and achievement track record (publications, membership to steering committees, prizes award, patents, etc)..
2) Project description (title, goal, background, methodologies and resources, achievements, current status, expected application for Theranostics and duration in months).
3) Information on the team involved in the project (name, title, positions) and/or potential subcontractors (third party which has entered into an agreement on business conditions with one or more participants and that can be related anyhow to the applied project without the direct supervision of the participant or without a relationship of subordination); (name, position and exact mail/phone and cellular phone/ fax and e-mail contact details).
4) Information on the administrative representative of the affiliated lab (if applicable; person in charge of representing the affiliated lab for intellectual property); (name, position and exact mail/phone and cellular phone/ fax and e-mail contact details).
5) Brief description, if existing, of the intellectual property policy relevant for the Principal Investigator, his (her) team and subcontractors; repartition of this property among the participants and the affiliated lab.
Best selected projects will have to be presented on December 4th in the frame of the 8th French American Innovation Day, a French American conference on Theranostics.
