Olivier Azancot and Eric Klein opened Café Bastille in November 1990. They were the first ones, in San Francisco, to put tables and chairs on an Alley way, where they applied the “European Outdoor Dining Experience”, so popular nowadays.
Inside, Café Bastille is a French Bistro, with its true “Bar Zinc”, that takes you for a visit in Paris through its Metropolitan design.
“En voiture, s’il-vous-plait!” to quote the rock group Telephone. They invite you to a very Parisian fare of Onion Soup Gratinee, Croque-Monsieur and Croque-Madame, Quiche, Mussels, Coq au Vin, Steak-Frites, and for the true amateurs, Hachis Parmentier, Boudin Noir and Andouillette.
Daily specials and more modern dishes complement this traditional menu.
To quench your thirst, they offer you a full-bar, with our in-house cocktails, a large and diverse wine list, assembled by Pascal Fosse, who leads you to a Tour de France des Vignobles, Kronenbourg 1664 on Tap, Ricard, and all your favorite “Digestifs”.
If you are a Francophile, or just French curious, come enjoy the relaxed Gallic atmosphere, with its authentic accents, at Café Bastille.
