Born in Paris, Diane Valranges was a journalist for 12 years before she moved to San Francisco; it was during a vacation in 1996 when she first fell in love with the City. She secretly promised to return and to introduce fine French imports to Americans.
She fulfilled her dream in October 2005 when she opened her French boutique, Péché Mignon, on Clement Street, across from French restaurant Clementine.

The store overflows with unique home accessories imported from different regions of France. Specializing in tableware and high-quality Jacquard and Provencal Tablecloths (including coated ones), Péché Mignon boasts myriad exclusive French finds such as a large variety of wine accessories, fun and whimsical kitchen accessories, perfumes from Grasse and other charming accents. The store showcases also a baby section and French gourmet food including chocolate, jam, cookies and tea.

Péché Mignon, French for “guilty pleasure”, did not come to fruition at a snap of the fingers. Much had to be done to make her dream come true. Diane Valranges poured her heart into the creation of her boutique and it shows. The store attracts street walkers with its vibrant red and orange colors and many customers enjoy keeping company to Diane, who often gives them some hints about their next trip to Paris.
More than just products, she tries to introduce her customers to French Lifestyle, as is written on the store’s awning. Therefore she holds regular events based on the French celebrations calendar such as the Beaujolais Nouveau and Bastille Day.

At the beginning of this year, Diane launched her on-line store to expand her horizons, www.pechemignon.com. Overflowing with ideas to develop her business, she will also soon launch the Péché Mignon wine club.
